That too occured to me as being a possible cause, but when autostop works, the car won't turn it back on until the brake is fully released, not partially. When I came to a line of cars at a stop sign on a downhill, I could stop / creep / stop without the engine ever turning on, since I'd just adjust pressure on the brake to stop or coast.

I have the same problem too. I've tried to learn to change my feathering habits. Usually happens though on a hard brake (the light turns red 3 seconds before the intersection.) I wonder if the police would understand that I was trying to be eco conscious, and that was why I ran the red light?
