I NEVER get under 55 on display anymore. thats almost 60 at the pump. Today I got 61.3, for over 120 miles, mixed, alot of uphill too... went to Azusa, had bumper to bumper traffic for miles, up down up down, all traffic lights on red of course...

I was doing kenny's trick and it's **** working!!!! thanx kenny (i talk about the 53 mph)

PreludeMD,

I would guess that the HCH would do quite well on the Eastern Shore. You have more moderate temps than I do in upstate NY. The flat topography should also help. I have a short commute to work with cold winters and in hilly terrain. It's no secret that the HCH II owners in the south generally get better gas mileage than those in the cold north. I know when we visited your area, once I learned to time the lights better on Rt. 13 - I saw my mpg rise. Good luck in your car shopping.
Regards,

Sigh~ So I'm assuming when you were car shopping you only looked at small hybrids and didn't venture any further? They are not the same car but you can compare them all you want. NO car on my list would be comparable by your standards I'm sure but I compare them because they are what I like and they would somehow fit in my life just fine. Better than the Lude that I have now.

Want it here's my list
-Honda Civic Hybrid
-Prius
-Camry Hybrid
-Fit Small, fun, simple, low maintenance and no worries about batteries later in life. (my '01 has 180k miles on it so that IS a concern since I will pass the warranty period faster than most.)
-Element (different and fun but still functional and AWD)
-Gasp!!! FJ Cruiser, Love it and would be great for driving on Assateague but not a good commuter. (Planning as 2nd vehicle)
-Odyssey: Don't need a minivan but like the space and it's darn comfy.

So as you see, only 2 of them are comparable by size. But those are what I like. And it HAS to be comfy for long commutes and 8hr drives to see the family.

Thank you for explaining what the fit was but I already knew where it came from.
