On Craigslist, there is a 95 Civic with 994,000 miles on it... Still running too.
I hope mine lasts that long (although it will take me a lot more than 12 years)

 

50 miles a day commute for me! In 7 months I have 15,000 miles! yikes! It's a good thing I got this hybrid before i moved farther from work!

 

Don't you mean all the stopping she has to do for the guys to ogle at her as she breastfeeds? Maybe charge them a "viewing fee" to make up for the loss in gas mileage. Oh I'm bad. I will say that you and Matt (06hch2) have quite low numbers (low-40s) while those of us making up for your short distances are getting 50-55 mpg numbers. You still get those numbers on the longer trips it is just the short commutes that kill you.

Congrats on getting the second Hybrid though. I tried to persuade my parents to get the Accord Hybrid but Dad splurged and got the Acura RL SH-AWD model (which I *reluctantly* drove to the Impromptu Hybrid Gathering that I self-created in Dallas back in the summer). It is okay and I can beat the EPA numbers in it (I think I got 31 mpg on a 2-hr one-way trip with EPA numbers of 18/26). It is fun but I was a tad disappointed. Oh well. I'm sure they owe me a few hundred of those.

 

You go. Get that 40,000-mile mark. I was on pace to eclipse 50k in the first year of owning my car except I changed jobs 6 months in and ended up at almost 36k. Boo. I was in a very tight race with JordanCS until we changed jobs (about a month apart) and our miles dropped off dramatically (100 miles a day to about 20 miles a day). Good luck and keep us posted obviously.

 

I'm on pace to do 60-70k/yr.... That's why I'm getting one. I get paid by the mile.
