There, I said it.

I bought our 2nd HCHII in March and I have less than 3500 miles on it. I need to move further from my job.

Seriously, I have a 15-minute commute and that's all this car does. Our other HCHII is the "family" car and will be 10k-11k miles per year.

On one hand it seems a waste, like I should've bought an old Civic with 150k already on it, but I love my car. It's safe and quiet -- it's a great commuter car!

It's just that it'll take me 20 years to put 120,000 miles on it!!!!

 

I notice one of your HCH2's is getting better milage, 4 mpg. Yours or hers?, or need I ask!

 

Well, mine is the "commuter" and hers is the "family" car. There is really no getting around running the engine and AC, when breastfeeding a hungry kid in 100 degree weather. You can't blame her.

 

Have had our HCH II for 60+ days now and have driven 6512 miles. OMG on a 39,000 mile per year pace.

 

G:How do you manage that kind of milage per yr.?

 

100 mile commute 6 days a week. And then we seem to be averaging 20 miles/day in just driving around running errands and such.

This car is saving me around $250+ each month in gasoline at the current $2.60/gallon. The Town & Country mini-van it replaced was averaging around 17-18 mpg.

 

Good investment , I would say. That is alot of driving however. Glad its you and not me!!! I do enjoy driving my HCH2 however. I have managed 12000 kilometers since purchase in Dec. 2006. H

 

strange, I had my first HCH2 for 4mnths and put 14k miles on it and after it was totaled I got another one and have 5k miles on it after 2 WEEKS!

I've found I drive places I normally wouldn't because i know I can get 50MPG any time I try. I went from Kalamazoo, MI to Mall of America which is about 550 miles on a single tank!
