Default Wire connected to?

I was looking under the hood and saw a wire that is not connected. Any one know where or if it is suppose to connect to? It looks like a grounding wire. Driver side by the fuse box. 09 Camry Hybrid

That is the body ground strap. It bolts to the hole shown just to the right of the end of the cable in your photo.

See the picture below.

Thank you for the quick reply. I wonder why it was not connected. I bought the car used about a year ago and it seems like there is no problem driving without it connected.
Now i have to find out the bolt size.

It will more than likely be an M6 or an M8. It shouldn't be much more than 1/2" to 3/4" long.

Yes, it's an M6. The shortest I have is 1" long. Got it in there with such a tight space to screw it in. At first I thought I was missing something that was suppose to be in that location. Thanks again.

No problem. You can also shorten a bolt by cutting it off square with a good hacksaw and then use a rethreader to clean up the cut edge or a file to clean them up and put a slight taper on the end. At least you know you have a good ground now. It's not much of a problem with a new car but once they age a little and connections start corrroding, it will create problems.

A trick I have used is to put a nut on the bolt before cutting it, then clean the end then unscrew the nut. It will remove most of the material in the groove.
