Question for the Canadian folks,
Ironically, Mobil 1 does not have the 0w20 in Canada according to their Canadian site. I have always used Mobil 1 and would like to stay with it if possible. I change my own oil and want to keep it that way.
Has anyone been able to find the Mobil 1 0W20 in Canada? I happen to live in the coldest city over 600k people in the world (no bragging here, this is not fun) and oddly enough, I had to put the 5W20 for now. I have checked the specs, and not that I am an expert in oil by any stretch, there doesn't seem to be that much difference between the 0W20 and the 5W20.

There are several Toyota dealerships in Winnipeg that should have 0W-20 in quarts.

Otherwise, Mobil 1 0W-20 is available on-line if you do a google search. $46.21 on Amazon.com - includes shipping.

I get no commission on this!

Here's the Canadian version of the TSB (TSB2449) concerning 5W-20 and 0W-20 oil. I don't know the number of the corresponding new US TSB. The old US TSB was TSB018-06 dated March 2006. Note that this TSB version now includes the TCH's engine (2AZ-FXE) in the list for 0W-20 oil.

The manual says the oil capacity is 4.5 quarts (or so), if I give them 4 quarts, like bmgoodman says he does, are there any negative consequences, or will it just land the oil in the middle of the range on the dipstick?

Joe,

As long as you add the other 1/2 a quart or so when you get home, you will be fine. If using the dealer, they sometimes get carried away and put most of that 5th quart in the engine instead of 1/2. Some of the folks here just come hame and add the last bit themselves to make sure that it is done correctly.

I don't try to run 1/2 quart low just in case I forget to check the oil for a week or two and have something BAD happen.....like a small leak...

Anyone know of a site where I could order a case of Mobil 1 0W-20? At least for future reference, that is (Advance Auto is running a Mobil 1 5 qt + filter deal for about $30)

Just so you guys know, Advance Auto Parts is currently running an oil change special with 5 qts of Mobil 1 (they usually have 0W-20 and 5w-20 available) and a Mobil 1 filter for $29.99. The special runs through March 25th.

No problem, anything I can do to make sure people aren't getting ripped off at their dealer service!

Appreciate the info, JoeRemix.

In the interest of full disclosure, do you have any association with Mobil 1, Advance Auto Parts, or any relationship in the oil industry?

I got jumped for advertising for even mentioning a "brand name" on this forum which is why we became a site sponsor.
