Mudguards Yay or Nay

Re: Mudguards Yay or Nay
I just got color-keyed Blue Ribbon Metallic Mud Guards & will put on this weekend & post pics. I got them from TRD Parts 4 U:

Note - the parts I received are well-painted PT769-03070 & not as shown in the generic picture from their website.
I thought my dealer was putting on color-keyed but put on black which I thought looked bad against the blue. Maybe OK for Black or Titanium.

Re: Mudguards Yay or Nay
I believe that you can get the mudguards in either flat black or body colored. (They offer most colors on Ebay. (I'm not sure if they offer body-colored at the dealer.) Unfortunately, when I ordered mine through ebay- they did not offer Blue Ribbon- so I just got flat black.
I have the front ones on- which attach with bolts. The rear ones require you to drill a hole into the body (which requires you remove the rear wheels)- and I was too lazy at the time. When it gets closer to summer I'll probably put them on.
They seem to help- at least in Wisconsin. No mudguard will keep the body perfectly clean, but I think they do help.

Re: Mudguards Yay or Nay
Mud flaps do help keep minor (and Major) paint chips from happening on the rocker panels and behind the rear tires. I have had them installed on every car i've had since '86. If you want proof look back of the wheelwells at just about any 5 year old car. Small chips and dents are common. My new ones are color matched but I think proper fit is more important than color. Black flaps next to black tires looked fine on all the other cars.

I think they increase the fuel milage as they produce a vortec just like the wingtips on my Gulf StreamV. And did I mention how pretty they look? ROTFFLMAO

Thanks for all the posts!!
Where is the TCH gallery?
tjd42 - I will look forward to your "tutorial."
I think I might add these on myself after I get the car...

Re: Mudguard installation not for the faint of heart
I got the color coded, blue metallic mud guards and I can see the visual protection they offer after each ski trip. Plus they provide a visual effect of making the car look lower to the ground!!
