Oh brother. Guess what? I live in a Red State. I vote Republican. And, even better...I WORK for a Republican.
And I drive a TCH. And guess what all my Republican friends drive? Toyota's, Honda's, MB's, Lexus, Acura, etc.
You know why? We're all free traders, and we're attracted to market driven business principles. Which means the best car wins.
You want to know why the Big Three market share is highest in the Midwest and South? Because that's where trucks are the most popular. More people actually need them there. But its going down in the Midwest and South, too.
And, further hate to burst the bubble, but Bill Ford is as blue as they come, politically.

Rated as the 3rd best car for FE. It would be intresting if a magizine tested the camry vs the prius...HWY ride quality comparsion is what I would like to see.
