-paul- I called webelectronics then I orderd the module they said might work on my 08 tch. I then down loaded the instruction for installeing the module.After looking at that I decided to take it to toyota to have them install their module.I do not want to cut into wires on a brand new tch.I am afraid of haveing future issues on future warrenty claims I will post at later date on how this works out

Last tuesday I took my tch into our local toyota dealership to have my drl lights changed so that they can not be turned off.They did not use a module. Instead they hard wired the drl.They did a very good job. They charged 2 hours to do this job.Cost was 213.00 dollars.I tried to talk to the tech but he told the service writer he was to busy to talk to me.I then took it to Canadian Tire for the federal inspection.It passed (no problem). I then took it to a authorized out of province inspection. Cost was 142.00 dollars.They had to take all the wheels off to measure the brake rotors.Then they filled out a form with the measurements on it.They have to send a copy of that to the provincial inspection department.If it had more miles on it they would have to do a alignment.That would have cost more money.My tch has 7000 miles on it.So then I took the federal form and the provincial form to a local licence shop to buy my licence plate. I am now a very happy tch driver.

For about 50 bucks you can get a kit to convert the turn signals into daytime running lights. I think they are better then the 50% power to the highbeams headlights that come with the canadian tch.
I have both as I imported a us fiero and used this kit and I bought a second unit for a prius I was going to import but had too many problems with, and ended up buying a canadian tch.
If I had my choice I would use the conversion kit and switch the turn signals to led turn signals which means I would only be consuming about 3 watts of energy continually instead of about 70 watts to run the highbeams at reduced power.
The turn signals modified with the kit is far superior in visability, and the installation is so simple my dog could do it.

I used this unit and have a spare which I am still thinking of using in my 09 camry. I have installed 4-5 of them and they are quite simple, I do not use the connectors, and direct wire with tape and heat shrink tubing.

Most modern day flashers are solid state and can be readily opened up for modification. The new flasher relay uses a milliohm current sensing nichrome wire link and logic such that it will "act" just as did the old type. Fast flash if one of the bulbs is out or drawing too little of a current flow.
Select the right resistor to replace the milliohm wire link and the flasher will work just as well with LEDs. Use a high wattage resistor and a halogen bulb can be used temporarily in case of need.

This is really helpful as I am importing a 2007 Prius from the US and need DRLs. But when I went to the website for the module it said that they do not ship to Canada. So where did you purchase yours or did they stop shipping to Canada?

JRS, the person you are asking hasn't been on the site since January of 2011. After 2 1/2 years without any activity, I doubt they are coming back.
