Can someone else please confirm that the seek mode on the steering wheel doesn't work on an 06 civic WITH navigation?

Or can someone confirm that the seek mode on the steering wheel does work on an 06 civic WITHOUT navigation?

On my 06 HCH non-NAVI, the Seek function works from the steering wheel as described by previous posts. A 3 second hold on the channel + or -, a beep, then the next channel is selected.

I've tried it on my navi HCH and it DOES NOT work. It will go to the next preset. It never goes to seek. I hope this helps out.

Thanks to all who checked the seek mode on the steering wheel....

So i guess it is true that the HCH WITH navigation does not go into seek mode on the steering wheel, it will only go through your presets.

BUT if there's someone out there that has the HCH WITH navigation AND can do the seek mode on their steering wheel, please let us know.

Thanks

You are correct. My non navi hybrid does seek if the button on the steering wheel is held down. I tried a EX 4dr w/navi and it will not seek via the button on the wheel.

This should be noted in the owners manual. IE: this feature is not on Navi equipped models....

EZ2beGreen,

Thanks for your reply! Yeah Honda should have put a disclaimer or something saying that the seek mode does not work on the steering wheel if it is equipped with Navigation.

Now i feel my hybrid is useless....Just kidding!

I had an interesting discovery today. I was driving a 2007 Hybrid Navi, and apparently the seek feature works on the steering wheel.

So, there is at least 2 changes for 2007 Hybrid Navi models.

1) The driver can seek radio stations by holding down the + or - buttons on the steering wheel! ( I wonder if this was a running change for 2006 or ONLY on 2007 models)
2) XM standard on Navi models

I didn't notice any other changes at all....

I checked mine after reading this thread. The scan function works from the steering wheel. Mine is without navigation.

Yes, all 2006 and newer Civic EX & Hybrids without navigation have this feature. It seems as if (at least those who reported here) the 2006 Navigation equipped models did not have this feature. 2007 Navi models have this feature.

Hope that clears it up...
