I just bought my 06 civic hybid in February. Galaxy Gray metallic with the ivory interior (you MUST get all weather floormats if you get the ivory!, I picked up some cheap ones at Target and they work fine). Mileage so far has averaged around 40mpg on each tank of gas (which includes a lot of cold weather driving and hills) and has gotten as high as 46mpg on mixed highway city driving.

I really love this car, with one minor annoyance. Has anyone else noticed the trim on the doors rattling? It started a few days after I bought the car (with only about 100 miles on it), went away for awhile, but now it's back!

 

Yes. My 04 HCH had a door rattle on the passenger's side and my 06 HCH has a door rattle on the driver's side. It's pretty normal.

And quite frankly, you really need all weather floormats with ANY color interior... I'd put 'em in even if I had black interior.

 

I have a rattle on the driver's door trim that can be heard mostly at highway speeds. I haven't taken the time yet to figure out where exactally it is coming from but if I give it a good smack with my forearm it seems to stop... for about 10 minutes!

In my 05HCH, I have more rattles coming from the undercarriage/trunk area and A pillars that are driving me crazy. Not to mention the clunking sound coming from the right front wheel when going over small bumps. Sounds like a defective strut or something......dealer just gives me the usual lip service......wish I had a lift so I could get under and give it a look....

 

The plastic trim around the driver's door handle on my 2006 HCH rattles at highways speeds too. Drives me nuts.

 

No rattles except from the CDs in the door pocket.

 

My 06 HCH has an annoying rattle coming from the passenger side door, mainly coming from the speaker panel. Driver side door seems fine.


My HCH is white w/ivory interior. I definetly needed floormat protectors so I picked one up at the local honda dealer. It's clear, custom fit and very sturdy. Well worth the 60 bucks for it. The floormats that I got are from a company called exactmats.

 

No rattles, except the money (which I am saving from running my previous V6) rattling in my pocket.
