Wheel/Tire Selling Advice

I sold a set of Iroc-Z wheels w/tires on ebay. I posted that I'd sell them at whatever the auction price went up to, plus actual shipping costs through UPS... or, pick them up locally.
The guy that won was across town about 45 miles. It just so happened that I had to go over to his side of town for other business the next day, so he got free curbside shipping! Plus, he gave me cash on the spot.
Bottom line, when dealing with ebay or craigslist, be ready to deal with knuckleheads and scammers. And post as much relevant information and pictures as possible. However, no matter how much information you post, you'll always get the guy that sees the pics of your wheels and will ask what color they are. Or, see that you will only sell locally, and still ask if you'll ship across the country. Or, see that it came off an '05 Civic, and still ask if it'll fit HIS '05 Civic. Or, say to ship the wheels to Zimbabwe and he'll wire you a check...

i sold my set of wheels and tires here and had to break them up. i sold them to 2 members here. 1 bought a set of 2 and the other did the same. you might want to list it here and craigslist. i had to ship mine. but, i included shipping in the price.

I have been looking for some good tires/rims for my 08 HCHII but cant find anything I really like. Is there a big difference in terms of MPG for different rims styles? Do I need to buy new tires AND new rims or can I just put new rims on my stock tires?
I really want new rims but just dont know where to go. Could anyone post some pictures of aftermarket rims they have on their HCH's?

in my experience the smaller the wheel and the lighter the wheel the better, as for designs, i doubt that has a very significant affect on MPG. i upgraded both my wheels and tires from the stock 15" to new 18", and it does hurt the MPG with the added size and weight. for me i wanted new wheels for the looks, and new tires that didn't handle horribly in chicago winters (without having to have separate snow tires). if you are fine with the tires then you can easily get new 15" rims and re-use the current tires. in my opinion though, if i lived in Packer Country i would either get new all season tires that won't suck in the winter or get a second set of wheels and tires for the winter. or use the stock wheels for winter tires and keep the stock tires for the new wheels.

For those of you are interested Click here for tire size specifications. The top line is for the HCH 15" tires and rims, and the second line is for the 16" HCII EX tires and rims. As long as you stay with a tire/rim combination that has an overall dimension of 24.9" - 25", and a Revolutions per mile of 833-837, you will be fine.
As a side note, I found that the 16" 24.9" OD tire, gives a dead-on (Actually ±.05 mph) accurate speedometer reading. The stock tires give a 2-3 mph faster reading than actual, which is reflected in you MPG display. I measured this using both the GPS speed signal in the Navigation radio maintenance menus and from a second handheld GPS measuring unit.
