I replaced a 2003 Subaru Outback H6 3.0. It was a nice allwheel drive vehicle but it required premium fuel and only averaged around 18 mpg in urban driving.

I replaced a 2004 Nissan Maxima. It took premium. It got 18 MPG winter 20 MPG summer. We had a recent ice storm here in NY. I needed to idle the car to melt a layer of ice. After that the display showed 15 MPG.

My 1 day old Civic is at 33 MPG and raising.

I went from a '03 blk/blk BMW M3 with 19", SMG, nav and 333 hp to a blue 110hp? HCH2 with only nav.
I drove my m3 for 77k miles since new.
The HCH2 parking brake was one major pain and the lack of a sunroof or leather interior were probably the close seconds.

Sure, the power is eh, slightly lacking.
But with my freeway and canyon commute, the Civic's handling is nothing to be sneezed at.
And with the ipod input for my daily grind, I'm content.
PLUS it's sure more comfortable on my butt as well as my wallet.

A gas guzzling 2004 GMC Sierra pickup.

I have only had the HCH a few days and am still getting used to sitting down so low once more... but hey, the 3x+ gas mileage makes that a whole lot easier to deal with.

I traded in a 2006 Jeep Wrangler, I was getting 12 mpg and now I get 48 mpg with the Civic its the 2007 model. This is the first car that I have owned that was not built by an American Company.

My HCH II replaced a 1990 Honda Civic that I bought new and kept for 17 years and 208,000 km.

My HCH II is Sparkle Grey Pearl.

My brother needed a car (he was moving from New York and didn't have one), so I gave him my 2002 Civic, and bought the hybrid. Normally, I keep Hondas at least 10 years.

Is it just me or does it seem like quite a few of us replaced our previous 1990 Civics (4-gen) with HCH-II's?

If so, Wow !!

I traded in my 99 Accord V6 2dr EX for the hybrid. I really didn't want to get rid of the Accord, I loved that car but this just seemed like the right thing to do....
