jet1, did you install a breaker..I was told this needs to be done just in case something back fires....I have one at the batt. and one inside next to the console...no problems here...I'm having a Federal Rumbler installed this friday..only uses 20 amps..
my control box has a 40 amp circuit breaker and I put 8 gauge wire to it direct from the 12v and then put a 40 amp fuse in line next to the controller. hot tip...NO ONE had an 8 gauge fuse holder in the auto electric shops, so I went to a stereo installer shop and picked one up.....gotta have lots of power to rattle those trunk lids at stop lights! I may have some photos soon but i'm getting ready for a trip and am out of time....
