also try:

which links you to your local area. VERY local in some cases. And posting can win you free gas cards!

Price here in Stoughton, MA for Mutual (fermented bilge water) is 1.97 with $0.44 for Fed/State tax.
A quick check of the internet says that California pays 48 cents in combined fed+state taxes. The remainder of the price difference is probably due to the overall high cost of industrial businesses in California due to regulation.

I find in some areas prices range quite a bit! In a town called Benson, my wife and I stopped for food and gas. Fuel at that time was $2.79/gal. No way! We just left Willcox 30 miles ago, where it was $2.49/gal. So we ate and decided to fill up in Tucson 30 miles further up the road. The first gas station we came to in Tucson was $2.29/gal. Only 30 miles outside of Tucson, fuel was 50 cents more per gallon!?

Once a few years ago, gas was $1.65 at an interstate truck stop about 30-35 miles south of Phoenix, and $1.92 in Phoenix the same day at the location where I normally bought gas.
I have NO 'splanation for that idiocy !!!
I was just thinking, if I did fill up in Benson as planned, I would have paid around an extra $5-6! I think I needed about 10-12 gallons at the time.
Inside the Atlanta City area: $2.12
Outside the Atlanta City area: $1.96
Funny how some non-hybrid owners think we're dissappointed at the lower cost of fuel.
BTW
Fuel cost DOES continue to rise at an extremely high rate.
When I bought my car almost exactly 2 years ago gas was about 75 cents less per gallon.
I hope I'm wrong- but judging from pre-Katrina rates of increase don't expect sub $2.00 rates to last long. The price per barrel hasn't changed much.
