Volkswagen adds the ID. AERO EV to their “ID.” lineup, and Citroen’s e-C4 fastback set to swoon English drivers.

Volkswagen has already rolled out a number of incredible electric vehicles lately, and now the ID. AERO is the most recent debut. As we had mentioned before, EVs are showing up in all shapes and sizes. And while practicality seems to make the crossover a good choice, there’s a growing number of ultra aerodynamic sedans that have been popping up. With 380 miles of range, the ID. AERO is at the sharp end of the scale with usability, and will be a world-wide seller. “Following the ID.4, this model will be our next global car for Europe, China and the US,” notes VW CEO, Ralf Brandstätter.

And it also shows a turn for the industry to have a segment for ultra efficient EV. No power ratings were mentioned, apart from the 77 kWh battery, which to me tells us the range is far more important than the 0-60 times.

Citroen’s e-C4 is a unique blend of SUV, coupe, sedan and fastback elements

Over in the UK, drivers will now have the option to pick up the Citroen e-C4 EV as their next ride. This car pushes style above all else. As you won’t be getting a rocket ship of an engine. A total of 136 horsepower gently accelerates the e-C4 to 60 miles per hour in 9.5 seconds. Range is a bit shorter, too at 200 miles. But in the volume compact segment, that’s an ample amount. According to CEO, the car is said to have “outstanding roominess and limousine versatility, with the benefit of zero-emission, all-electric power.” In essence, it’s a really big small car. And it was designed specifically for the British driver who didn’t wan an SUV or hatch. Considering that London is soon imposing an even wider zone for their low emissions restricted areas, the e-C4 X is now perfectly at home in a town which has all but ousted ICE engines. London in particular may help spur the EV market in the UK, to the point that even Amazon is using e-bikes instead of vans.
