I always got the warranty from Geico for all of my vehicles. They cover up to 7yrs/100,000 miles with $250 deductable. I got Geico to warranty my TCH for $14.60 per half year, that is $204.4 for 7 yrs. When is time to repair your car, just have to mechanic to give Geico to confirm the repair. That is much better than buying from dealer.

That is a good plan with GEICO. However, if one ever decided to move to a state that GEICO doesn't service, then you basically lose that mechanical breakdown insurance and won't be able to buy it with the new company, because for mech breakdown insurance you have to start buying the insurance w/in the first year.

With the Toyota extended warranty, it's good whichever state you go to.

 

I had bad experience with a third party extended warrantee company. Slow to authorize repairs if they called back at all. Never again. It's genuine Toyota for me.

 

Very true!! A few years back I bought an aftermarket on a new GM product. It was Arthur Anderson, the name in itself should have been a dead giveaway, 2 years into the 5 year warrentee old Art decides to pull the plug and file chap 7. that was the last friggan warrentee this kid ever bought.

 

Well, with the Hybrid system I'd much rather have Toyota dealing with it than some rogue mechanic out there....

tnsig - Did you ever attempt to purchase a warranty from them? I am going to be looking for two -- one for my girlfriends new RAV4 limited she just purchased yesterday and one for my TCH when it comes in.

 

FWIW - I bought my extended warranty from Troy Dietrich at Toyota of Greenfield. The price was right and Troy's service was great...
