There is an easy workaround for that one. Open the GPS/Nav DVD door.

Captive Nav systems are so yesterday....

Buy a new Garmin Nuvi and NEVER use the captive one again.

If you want a normal acceleration, you'll need gas.
It's all about the weight (the lighter Prius probably can accelerate on battery better than the TCH).

Thank a class action lawyer for that one.

Fog lights are not legal in many states.

Fog lights are legal in EVERY state in the union. The only law "at issue" here is that your headlight MUST be on 30 minutes after sunset until 30 minutes before dawn/sunrise.

Making fog light useless for that duration.

From a manufacturing perspective, it would be cost prohibitive for a mid priced sedan to have an ala carte menu of options that are not available in a good percentage of their market. They'd have to make a few versions of the car.

I can't open my fuel door while moving, but the climate system does default to "recirc" every startup. Oh! The humanity!

The cruise control does need my attention on up-and-down terrain. The car'll just accelerate coasting downhill as loose as a goose, and then on the uphill the c.c. doesn't pick up until the car's slowed down below the set point, and then it's off to the races back up to the set point until the next hill crest, and repeat.

Good way to make following drivers go insane. I just tell my TCH 'okay big boy, I'll take it for now.' And actually the cruise control is one of my favorite devices because on normal roads I can just click up 3 times for 3 mph accel, or down 2 clicks for 2 less mph., etc., and the c.c. stalk is so convenient for disengage/resume/accel and so forth. I suppose those things are standard on all cars now. I get a kick out of all the TCH tech, 'cause I buy a new car only every decade or two, and this car's fun.

The GPS for sure. An idiot compared to my five year old Garmin.

The location of the ECO button is only second to the steering wheel controls of the cell phone. After disconnecting a call the radio controls are not back on the screen. What ever mode you are in prior to a phone call should return, not the I Agree screen. I do not think the Nav version 7 would even solve this, but if it does, I may invest in it.

Dumbest part? With all the computerized smarts in the TCH it is POSSIBLE to exit the car and it will continue to RUN till all gasoline and battery power is consumed. I know, I did it by mistake by forgetting to push the OFF button and what else I did wrong I don't know...left it in gear maybe????

It should automatically shutoff in all situations when the TCH hasn't moved for a reasonable amount of time. It should cover for MY mistake., Just my opinion.

I voted for other and I don't see any mention of it here so far.

While I appreciated the comments about the ECO button (oh yeah, that button! ), my vote for dumbest part of the TCH is where they located the inside pull handle to close the door! I always have to lean forward out of the seat to reach it and pull it in. I find this especially surprising since as we discussed awhile back, "Grandmas" drive this car.How is she going to be able to do that on a regular basis? I have tried various ways of closing the door at least part of the way before sitting down but I still have to stretch to close my door.

Does anyone else have this problem??

Otherwise, I love my car and it still looks new even tho it is a year old now!

I don't think any car should have an auto shut down feature.
Imagine if there is a computer bug and it activates at 70 miles per hour on the highway...or if you are driving through a not so good neighborhood.
Imagine if you are sitting in the car, while idling and the person with the key gets into another car and drives away. If you sit there for a few minutes and your car shuts down you wont be able to restart it since you no longer have the key.
Computers are good, but they aren't perfect.
It is better for the driver to just remember to check the clock to verify that the car is off and to veryify that the key is in their pocket (although the car wont lock if the key is inside the range). I think about these two things when I get out of the car...and remind my family every time they take my keys.

Hmm, thats odd, didn't you hear those loud warning beeps that the key has left the car while its still running? Now if you left your key IN the car, that would be interesting.. Where do you park?
