Studded snow tire advice
I am using 4 of the General Altimax Artic studded snow tires on my 09 Camry hybrid. I was going to go with the Firestones because I had them on my old car but I did have an issue with them and after my discussion with the tech at Tire Rack I decided to go with the Generals. I'm glad I did. So far they have been great. Took a hit on the mileage but I expected that with the studs and the cold weather but am still doing better than my old car and the studs are a bit noisy on dry pavement but that really doesn't bother me much when you consider how much better they are in the ice and snow compared to those all season tires that came on the car. I just drove from Syracuse to New York City this past week at speeds of 65 to 70 mph, 261 miles and averaged 40.2 mpg for the trip. That was all highway, city mileage has been more around 34. I have about 2,000 miles on these tires so far this winter and would definately buy them again. Hope this helps. Rick

Sounds like I am making a good choice with the General Altimax Artic. I am debating on studding them. I had already checked Tire Rack for their results. Thanks for the input.
