No, but the position of the antenna on the car relative to the ground plane is. Higher is generally better when it comes to holding car remotes, regardless of manufacture.

One of you fellow nut cases should try the old Pringle can trick (from the WiFi world). Cut a big hole in the bottom of a Pringles can, hold the remote in there, and aim the open end at your car. Maybe you can lock your doors from hundreds of feet away!
