New car - gas leak and steering pulling to left!!
I have 09 camry hybrid with around 2500 miles on odometer now. I am having 2 main problems with it.
First major one is check engine light going on after every tank fill up. The light goes off after the tank is halfway thru. I always made it sure that cap clicks when tightened. this started when the car had around 500 miles on it(after the first tank). This time after filling up the car and leaving it overnight, i noticed a small puddle of gas under the car near the left rear side. I always smelt gas around the car in the morning but this time i saw a small puddle. I looked underneath and i could see gas dripping down under the rear fenders.
I never expected this from a brand new car. Granted i should i taken it to the dealer the first time i saw the check engine light, but this is my only car and i need it to go to work. if i drop it off at the dealer, how do i go to work???? And the whole reason of buying a toyota was to get a reliable car...
Has anybody experience anything like this from a brand new camry...??????
Any advices??
The other problem is the steering wheel pulling turning left on braking. I posted about this in the forum a few days back. I had a complimetary alignment done by the dealer which rectified (read masked) the problem. Now its back again and i can also hear creaking noise when it happens at slow speeds..
any advice on this one too before i see the dealer?/
Thanks

I have had a similar experience with a GM Product
You have a leak obviously from the fuel system
You should have a mechanic take a look under the car early in the morning after you have filled the tank
The area leaking will still be wet or will get wet after sitting for a few minutes
In my case it was both the tank and the hose couplings and the filler neck
The CEL light is likely a by product of the leak
See a mechanic
It could be as simple as a loose clamp

I would call the service manager, and ask about being without a car while they work on yours for the second time. Your well within warranty. They should fix it to your satisfaction.
You may have the option to take it to another Toyota dealer if you want. Some techs may be sharper than others on finding the brake problem. The clicking problem when you apply the brakes is the clue to fixing that problem.
Be sure to point out the exact area of the car you see the gas leak. Fixing the leak should fix your engine light being on.

The fuel leak sounds like the low pressure vapor line to your carbon canister is leaking at the filler tube. Simple to fix and should only take 15 minutes or so.
The other issue can be several different items. Do the tires have the correct pressure? Does this occur only during hard braking or under 10 mph (this will indicate the hydraulic braking system)? If it occurs during regenerative braking and hydraulic braking, the suspension system would be suspect. Either way a competent tech should be able to pinpoint the problem in short order.
Most dealers in this area will offer a drop off service that will take you to work when you leave them the car. Some will offer a "return" back to the dealer but more often than not, a fellow coworker can drop you off after work. Worst case, grab a cab....
