I like GPS navigation, but I already have a Garmin iQue (combination Palm Pilot & GPS navigation/routing). I'm wondering how the Toyota nav option compares to Garmin units. How easy is it to enter waypoints? Find the nearest rest area? Restaurant? If you have a destination entered, can it find points of interests along the current route? What about multiple via points?

 

I dont have the NaV myself but do have a garmin and have played with the toyota version. Personally, I think the toyota nav is a tiny bit better but the true benefits are the extra features it brings, like the better displays and the improved bluetooth controls for one.

Just remember right now toyota nav can not be installed post delivery...

 

I've had both the Garmin and the Toyota unit. I like the ease of use of the Garmin unit, but like the overall integration of the factory unit.

 

That depends on where you live, in Canda we have the opposite problem.

You can't buy a Camry Hybrid in Canada with factory Nav, you can only have it dealer installed.

It is not a true Camry Hybrid nav system as you don't get the "Energy" screen.

The thinking is that it's the one normally installed in the XLE.
