I found I had to pull the fuse to get mine to work. It only takes a min and it does assure that the Nav. will force a Software load.

Did it. Worked first time. HUGE IMPROVEMENT! Even the refresh rate and animations are clearer, and more usable now.

Question Re: Nav DVD ver.8.1 gen5 - Chicago I355-I80

A question for anyone in the Chicago area. I have burned a new 8.1 dvd and works fine.

Just curious if any one else has done this and if the I355 extension to I-80 shows up. I don't see it! Hard to believe it's not on there yet!

I also have a TomTom in another car that is relatively new and it isn't on there either.

I don't really care too much as I know where I355 is, but I think it strange that it's not updated and wondering if any one else has noticed this.

Thanks for replying....

I am in the Chicago area also. I was hoping that the I355 extension would be on this update too. The road has been completed and open for over 1 year. It does not appear on the newest nav update and it isnt on my one year old Garmin either.

It is on the Garmin 2010.10 map that I'm running on my Nuvi.

Unhappy Re: Nav DVD ver.8.1 gen5

Thanks Pandc

I'm sure these companies have thousands of updates to do, but it does boggle my mind that a major road such as I355 is not updated.

thanks again for the confirmation of what I was seeing.

Jim

Hi all, been searchin thru this, and other forums/web postings but can't seem to figure it out. I did the update discs for my jeep and bmw and they worked fine, but now, we just bought an 07 lexus rx350 and after 8 coasters, I'm thinking there is really something wrong.

I am using a dell xps m1710 with the masushita blu-ray dvd writer with imgburn. I've set the settings at iso9660+joilet+udf v1.02. I couldn't find where the dvd-rom setting was. But went ahead anyways. Used the hybrid, as well as a standard image...nothing works

Can someone shed some light? Is anyone here from the sf bay area?

Thanks all!

Burning can be tricky. Make sure your are in DVD-ROM and Book Mode. Also I never have success if I have my write speed faster than 4x.
If you want you can PM me and send me a few coasters and I can see if they work in my car.

I'll ask the obvious question.

You are using "Double Layer" DVD's aren't you?

Verbatim brand are reportedly one of the best double layer discs you can get, try them.

I've used Memorex with 100% success as well.
