Don't leave my garmin in mount when not in use. Not even in car unless needed. Have easy to remove set up. Plug is put in console or glove box till next use.

I had a dealer install mine. Most US Toyota Dealers won't install a Customer Supplied part. I had to call around until I found a Toyota Dealer that would agree to do it.

I also had to supply them with the installation instructions as they had no clue otherwise. Like someone else said, you will not get the Energy Monitoring Screens.

Although an after market system make more sense, I really like Toyota's Hands free Bluetooth implementation which is why I went with the OEM.
thats awesome ... was hoping to use BT with the an aftermarket nav...

mom bought a TCH tonight, w/out nav... THis option looks good?

so just to verify:

BT works
Steering controls work right ?

thanks

Correct. Bluetooth and Steerings controls work perfectly (As long as they Follow the Installtion Insructions). It's not completly plug and play. The installer needs to move wires from one connector to another.

You may want to make sure you can find a Local dealer that will agree to install it before you order one. It took me awhile to find one.

The install is a lot of work since the entire dash needs to come apart but should be easy for Experinced Car Audio Installer that is familiar with the 2007 Toyota's. That's why I went with a Dealer install

With TomTom, you can install 3rd party software (most are for free).

With my TomTom ONE, I can:

- play games
- watch movies
- track where I've been and load it to Google Earth (incl. speed and altitude)
- plan my own route on Google Earth then load it into the TT itinerary

Please don't drive anywhere near me when you are watching a movie on your TomTom.

lol. I assure you I won't be watching movies while driving. For one thing, it's illegal here. Secondly, the screen is a bit small (watching it on the 7" MFD is probably better but I have no plans to modify my car to play movies via my MFD screen).

Also, you can't navigate and watch movies at the same time (the program needs all the processor power).
