HVAC switched to DEF from AUTO

HVAC switched to DEF from AUTO
Today, for the first time, the HVAC system automatically switched to DEF from AUTO. I turned it back on to AUTO and it switched back to DEF. It did this a few times. I turned off the system and AUTO stayed.
Anyone experience this?

Nope. I know AUTO defaults to "floor" only and any other setting disengages AUTO. Must have been too complicated on engineers to let AUTO run in various modes.
But this should be fixed, in your case, by reflashing the module. Unfortunately, it's dealer job.
Does it work OK in manual mode? Then simply forget AUTO. Convenience is not worth the money in my opinion.
