My 06 Civic Hybrid getting horrendous mileage!

Re: My 06 Civic Hybrid getting horrendous mileage!
The other thing I have noticied concerns accelrating from a stop like at a stoplight. Initially, I would slowly increase speed no greater than 2 miles per hour incremental increases and would still see poor gas FE and an intendent drop of a tenth or so in MPG. By accelarating more quickly and getting the assist to kick way up, I notice no drop in the MPG average and I get to my cruising speed much faster. It seems that the car was designed for truely "normal" driving moreso than I thought with regards to fuel consumption and driving habits.

Re: My 06 Civic Hybrid getting horrendous mileage!
When I picked up my car, mileage started around 27 mpg and slowly increased to 33, and was at around 36 mpg near the end of the tank, though this was with the 62-mile reset bug which I didn't know about at the time. Anyway my manually-calculated first tank average for the entire tank was surprisingly 37.9, so the car must have severely underestimated it (plus the reset bug).
By the way, my first 200 miles had A/C on accidentally. Make sure A/C is off unless you want it on. It should explicitly say "A/C OFF" in the digital display if it's off.
