I have a honda civic 2006, my insurance is too high, I have been driving for 18 years, and not tickets, nothing bad on my record. I am 37, male. When do I spect to get my next break on my insurance, I was told that at 25 my insurance goes lower, then when you get married, when you reach 10 years of clean driving, etc..

THanks!

In New Hampshire I paid State Farm $709 last year for my 2001 Z3. This year my HCH is $723.

I save $138 by insuring my house with them.
I save $146 by insuring her car with them.
I save $5 because it is a "safe" vehicle.
I save $181 because I'm a 5+ year safe driver.

I don't miss the Z3 "too" much.

For my first 6 months of driving (18,000 miles) the HCH I've spent $1069 on gas. The Z3 would have used $2070 for the same distance.

Can you break your coverage down into what options you have? 100/300, towing, deductables, collision, glass, etc...Here in MA we need to have a little more coverage because of all the bad drivers and I need 100/300 on bodily harm because I sometimes drive clients around....

Thanks for the info guicide. That is a very low price (a good thing) considering I pay 1100 per year for my HCH and I have lower coverage amounts (100/300 etc) and spotless driving record. I sure hope MA gets rid of the old system of setting the rates and allows more open competition between companies. I'm sick and tired of being bled dry every year by these theives.

To answer that would require getting into a whole politics discussion that probably isn't appropriate in this venue. Let's just leave it at "companies don't contribute to politicians' bottom line in Canada the way they do in the US".

I switched from a Mazda 626LE 1988 to a high end no leather financed Prius 2007. My premium has risen and I am wondering if I am getting screwed by State Farm . . . after reading this I will try to shop around and see what the options are. Any other tips? How much should I be paying in Palm Beach County Florida? Anyone around?

my rate isn't too bad when i had the hybrid. it was around $1100 a year for chicagoland. i am also 25. but, when i traded in my hybrid and got the si sedan it went down. i figure it cost more to fix when in an accident with the hybrid...which meant higher premium.
