I think I'd rather drive in MA. I'm at $2500 for my two cars.............for SIX MONTHS.
Clean record, garaged in Queens, NY. That's the price I pay for not liking the Red Sox

The quotes I've had are lower than my '02 Civic. In fact at £220 a year the lowest I've had on any car in the last 20 years.

I use Infinity Insurance for 6 years. Though I'm 30, I just got my license 6 years ago and purchased a brand new Toyota Tacoma (2000) PreRunner off the lot the day after I passed the drive test. My best insurance at the time was $2,600 yr. It has steadily gone down. Got married, went down more. Now, I insure an Acura (wife) and the Civinc Hybrid (me) and my insurance is $1,600 yr. + $55 for the Civic. I have 2 accidents but they are non-chargeable since neither party filed a claim, though one of them is a point on my DMV. I won't be switching insurance because if I do the best price is almost $1,000 higher. My wife has nothing on her record.

I never owned a BMW (always wanted to because I like they way they look and feel) but I do know my Toyota was running me about $700 yr. for my coverage (full) and the acura about $980. The Civic runs me now $755 /yr. Not bad.

I live in an area, though, where people have money (somewhat moreso than many other parts of the county contents) and auto-theft is among the lowest in the country. That could have a part in it. Don't know.

Thanks,
Shawn

I'm at $1,600 per year. Single, completely clear driving record (not even a parking ticket), my HCH-I is my first and only car. I'm still under 25, so I'm looking for my rates to drop in a few months when that birthday happens. State Farm.

I hope your rates do drop when you turn 25. In California, that doesn't make a difference. Here, they now go by how long you've been driving. My first major rate deduction didn't happen when I turned 25 (in fact, nothing happened that year). It was the next year when I got married that my insurance dropped $700. It wouldn't have dropped that much if I was still single.

All the best,
Shawn

I just added tha HCHII to our policy. It was $385/semi-annually for a 2006 Ody Touring ($37k). After adding the Hybrid to my policy the new premium is now $827/semi-annually. The premium for for HCHII was $481, and the Ody went down by 10% or $39, to $346.

Doesn't make sense to me that my $21000 Civic costs 40% more ($481/$346=139%) to insure than my $37000 Odyssey Touring. I switched to Allstate about 2 years ago, as they were Significantly less than State Farm and / or Country Companies. I may be auto insurance shopping again sometime soon!

What was really odd was that a 2006 Accord EX-V6 was about $140/semi annually than the Civic Hybrid and Ciivc 1.8....
