Civic hybrid for long distance cruising??
I'm considering the purchase of a Civic hybrid and am wondering how it is for long distance (2000+miles) trips that involve a lot of highway cruising. What is the mileage and comfort like when covering long distances compared to a regular Honda Civic? Is acceleration adequate for passing when travelling 65-70mph? I'd be interested in any opinions.

Re: Civic hybrid for long distance cruising??
I take my HCH from Columbus OH to Annapolis MD every once in a while, and plan to do so quite a bit in the future (450 mile trip). I just got the car a few months ago. It is trip through the Appalacians, so involves some "mountains." It handles them quite fine. I typically drive around 65. I could go much quicker, but any more than that and it "kills" the fuel efficiency (as in less than 45 mpg lol ). My car is still being broken in I think, it has about 1500 miles. We will see how the FE goes from there. My dad has taken his '05 HCH from Columbus to Norman, OK (14 hour drive) averaging 70 mph I think and he said he had AC on and I think he still got just under 40 mpg?
So the HCH can handle those speeds fine IMO.
