hybrid-battery.com -- Is this a scam?

50 MPG? You must really be careful. I managed that once on a 500 mile road trip, but I was nursing it, keeping speeds down to 50 and 55 much of the way, which about drove me insane. 41 is more normal for me, tracked carefully over one full set of tires (55k miles?) doing mostly commuter driving in Los Angeles.
I suppose I could live with this failing battery. That surprise starter works. There are hills here and in SF that I can barely do without the extra HP unless I really smoke the clutch (which itself is a a $1400 item). So I avoid those hills. But I'd still need to put some electrical tape over the IMA and engine lights. They mess up the aesthetics of the dash. :-)

I feel so **** lucky that Honda covered my battery under the 150,000 mile/10 year warranty. From the research I did, it didn't seem like they should have (2005 is ULEV, California 10yr/150,000 warranty is for SULEV -- 2006 Civic Hybrid and up).
Maybe they figured, "**** it, don't want the guy to regret buying our hybrid."

So is it a 10y/150k on the battery and CVT? I have all my original paperwork. Where would it say it on it?

Honda replaced mine around 80k. It began failing again around 185k and now at 190k I've finally learned that this car actually has a regular starter. :-) Since there no longer appears to be any aftermarket source for these batteries, it's looking like the ROI equation post warranty needs to incorporate $3k+ every 100k miles for battery replacement.
