HOV Stickers For CA Government Vehicles
I talked to a friend of mine today who works for a government agency in California. He was curious how quickly I had received my HOV stickers. He said that all government vehicles that are applying for the HOV stickers on hybrid vehicles with "E" plates are being held until September 2006 at which time they will then be issued. His agency alone has about 300 - 400 vehicles that are waiting for the stickers. Right now we are approximately at the 60,000 out of 75,000 that can be issued. They are only one city in California. If what he is telling me is true, it is very likely that come September and the DMV issues all these decals to the government agencies it may total up to several thousand vehicles and the 75,000 limit may be reached.

I work for a city in Orange County, CA. I applied for and received HOV stickers for two of our "E" plated HCH's. I also have a personal HCH and have stickers for that one too. All of the stickers arrived within 4 weeks after sending in the application.

One would hope that governmental vehicles wouldn't be counted toward the limit, but one never knows.
Also, I would imagine that there are a number of replacement stickers out there, which I would also hope are excluded from the 75,000... if they even stick to that.
