Default Speaking of HOV Stickers, Florida Info

I don't know if anyone else here is from Miami, but I know there are several here from the board in Florida. The FLDOT has a program for HOV stickers for hybrid owners down here. I got mine at the same time the dealer did the registration for me. Here is the link to the FLDOT page so you can get your HOV sticker.

At least that is one benefit I see of having the Hybrid (besides the obvious of less fuel consumption.)

I hope this info is of use to somebody.

Yes! Thank you! I'll be sending mine in tomorrow! About time FL got on the ball.

Other than Miami, is there anywhere else in the state that has HOV lanes? Orlando once tried to make the left lanes of I-4 "HOV only" during rush hours, but it was never really enforced and the policy was abandoned several years ago. Can't see spending $5 a year for a sticker I'd likely never use.

Mavidal, do you remember how long it took for FL to send it to you? I sent my application off 11 days ago, I see from my post here, but no word yet.

Hi:

I actually submitted the application along with the paperwork to register the car with the dealer. I got both my new registration and the hov sticker in about 2 weeks.

Gak. Wish I'd thought of that. I'm sure it'll be a while yet till Tallahassee has my paperwork filed.
