Default Honda Civic Hybrid 2004 won't move in any gear.

All of a sudden my wifes 2004 Honda Civic Hybrid won't move. It acts like the transmission is in neutral, no change shifting into any gear position. My first thought was that the shift cable from the shifter to the transmission might have broken. I checked that. When you move the shift lever, the cable moves the lever on top of the transmission. This happened all of a sudden. She was going around a corner, very slow at her place of work parking lot and the drive to the wheels just went away. She had to have it pushed into a parking space. There have been no noises or other signs of malfunction. I need help

Broken CVT belt or stripped drive spline.
