CVT rough on take off

CVT rough on take off
2003 HCH CVT 69,000 miles
Anybody experiencing this trouble; when sitting at idle and accelerating the CVT makes kind of a rough grunt or grinding sound that shudders the car? I took it into the dealer and was told it was the off idle clutch and they could replace the transmission if I found it too harsh to take, but that I should let it go and see how bad it gets!
The only reason they said this was because I have the extended warranty and I believe they just wanted me to go on living with it until it was passed the end of my warranty. I kind of felt put off by them.
