A couple of observations between '04 and '06 HCH
On the flat please. Uphill or downhill is not really cruising? Magazines used to publish the figure but I have not seen figures for HCHII. It is affected by the final drive ratio and has to be a compromise between too high a figure which makes a car a sluggish perfomer and too low a figure which makes it a little buzz box. My Accord Coupe pulls about 28mph per 1000 revs and is a very relaxing grand tourer.... But we have all driven cars where you have to work the gear box like mad.
This is just an observation and not based on any published data. My HCH 2 appears to do about 2000 rpm on the flat or downhill at 65mph. Up hills it does more.

Many thanks. It is what I guessed. And provides a quiet relaxing drive I suspect. That is what I like.
Although I have seen my new car, (including its 'strakes' for which my service guy doing the vehicle prep, (1.4hours allowed by Honda), knew their intended purpose), I cannot drive it away until the 1st March. It is very beautiful and exudes quality. My wife came with me to see our new baby and was very impressed!
One switch was marked VSA. What does that stand for? Yours in ignorance.....

2006 hybrid civic at 60 MPH is about 1750 rpm on level ground mpg was exactly 58.7 mpg by filling tank brim to brim. fuel meter was reading also

tried out the 60mph test today on my way into work: engine rpm on flat area was about 1800 rpm and no ima assist. any hill would cause it to rise to around 3000rpm max.

I know, my dealer not knowing what to do with the strakes was not really a positive thing but I'll give them a chance because it was the first 2006 HCH they sold. Also, the prep of the car was done by another dealer because the car was a transfer betwen two dealer.Do you mean that you have Vehicle Stability Assist on 06 HCH in US?

We hope that eventually Honda will issue a recall and correct those cars that have the problem.

For example, after 200 miles...I will lose .5 mile to the gallon just backing out of my garage. In my '04 after 200 miles, for the FE guage to go down an increment of .3 or .4, I would have to let it sit and idle for 10 minutes...
Also, it's 25 degrees here in NY and my auto stop engages!!!
I was in my Dad's '03 yesterday and even after an hour of highway driving, the auto stop wouldn't engage.
