It's all in choices. This debate is old and tired. I don't have time to **** around under the car, go buy oil and filter, find someplace to recycle the dang oil, etc. It's way worth it to me to just get it done.

I had no intention of complaining about the cost of this. My post was about the cost difference between the HCH and regular civic because they charge more do do that stuff on a hybrid.
blah blah blah.

I buy a year supply of oil and filters... time taken, 10 min. Year supply equals to 2 M1-110 (10k filter) and 8 quarts of M1 syn-tech 0W-20... cost, ~$30 bucks. Do I do the oil change myself, when I have time which is never so what do I do? I give the filter and oil to Honda and have them change it. I get charge for labor. Big deal.

If I'm not mistaken, Secretariat has a 2:24 1.5 mile among his accomplishments (37.5 mph avg including the standing start, with a rider and weights with 12 high-speed 180 degree turns). Also, his top speed unladen was clocked over 47 mph and the horse is known as the fastest land animal over sustained distance (3+ miles).

honestly, I think the horse remains viable as a non-oil transportation option and is powered from renewable resources :p

probably not feasible in urban environments though.

I own a 2006 Civic Hybrid and was a former owner (27 months) of a 2004 Civic Hybrid. I purchased my "06" on January 4, 2006 and currently have about 6700 mile on it. My overall mileage is 47.60 mpg and costing me $.05 per mile for gas. The tax credit for this year will pay over 2/3 of the cost difference between the Hybrid and the equal quality Civic model. It was an easy choice for me.
