I purchased my beautiful 2006 Civic Hybrid II with Navi back in early January 2006. I now have nearly 11,500 miles on it, and have noticed a huge improvement in mileage as the temperatures here in Northeast Florida have soared into the 80's and 90's in the last month or so. With the 11,500 miles on my car, I have averaged about 51MPG so far. But, I just filled up earlier today and got nearly 64MPG on my last tank! My previous alltime best was about 55mpg. Obviously, I drive my car at between 55-60 MPH on the interstate ti get this type of mileage. When I go 65-70MPH, my mileage drops to the 45MPG range. But, this warmer weather here has certainly upped my mileage by at least 3-5 MPG at a mininum.

I am new to this forum, but have been an avid reader as there are great tips and info here.

Funny story though, I let my beautiful wife drive my new car to her work one day back in January, and she loved mine so much that she went out and bought a new one as well. The hardest part of the equation though, was finding a deaer that had another HCHII with the navigation system. We both had to pay MSRP for these cars because they are so darned popular, but even harder to come by with the NAV system.

Overall, we are both very pleased with this awesome car and are looking forward to filing our taxes next year with the nice 2,100.00 per car tax credit!

Good for you! Those are impressive numbers- and a jump of 9 mpg on a tank best is worth partying over, if you ask me. Give yourself a pat on the back!

congrats, i can only dream of getting that mileage since my commute is in bumper to bumper traffic.

 

I know the feeling, my last tank was 56 MPG. I also had 606 miles on the tank which by far is the most I have ever had on one tank in any car I have owned. I only put in 10.8 gallons so I actually could have gone more.

 

Good job - move to South Florida where I am located and you can have those temps
almost the entire year.
