Default Best tank ever

This even beats the 66.6 I got in my HCH1 that took me two years to achieve.

Finally a 700+ mile tank.
Since I only used 10.458 gal I could have gone another 130 miles if the tank holds 12.4 gal.
I just don't like to run after all the bars of the fuel gauge disappear.

Calculations at the pump average 1.4 better, so it is really 67.0.

Kenny- That's incredible mileage and correct me if I'm wrong, but you don't even FAS or draft to get those numbers!

Nope
I don't FAS, draft, drive with the load, lean burn, turn the engine off, EV, put heaters under or in my engine, use external AC plugged into extra batteries.
Nothing fancy or complicated or a hassle.

Just 53 MPH in cruise control, No AC, 40 PSI, and I practically NEVER use my brakes.

I'm guess I'm not a good hypermiler.

LOL.

An outstanding run, Kenny! Were those commuting miles? If so, how long and what are the characteristics of your typical segments?

About 85% commuting in Los Angeles County, California.
Flat with small gradual inclines as the freeway goes over intersections during which I just leave it on cruise control.

I do go over two very high bridges though which I crest at about 30 MPH.
I am not on cruise control up or down the bridges.

I live in very hilly terrain and can't break the 60mpg level. I DWL as much as possible, but with some of these hills, I've discovered, that if you let your speed drop too low you end up crawling up to the top getting 15mpg. I'm working on finding what the best rpm/speed is for hill climbing. I do wish I could commute over flat terrain!

Great job Kenny, yeah once all the fuel indicator bars disappear you are
always hoping that your tank holds as much fuel as the manual states.
I am currently on track for a 800 mile tank hopefully I don't blow it in the next
250 miles.

Awesome tank. Looks like ya know what you're doin

I can't imagine maintaining that mileage for SO LONG. I can get 33 mile commute in the 60s, most in mid+ 50s, in the AM, but rarely above low 50s in afternoon commute. I often start in teens out of work (half mile slow rise w/ "supervised" stopsign, guard shack, light, steep hill-ramp-merge. Takes a few miles to bring that up to 50s!!! Several PM sections are uphill accelerations too...I've even hit low 40s on bad trips, 8 miles-100F-recal-misplaced hills and merges- AAArgh...

B*tchin' about low 40mpgs - gotta be a hybrid thing!!!

Congrats, Kenny! I'm working my way up the hypermiling stats, but that's just out of my league right now (though I did have a 694 mile tank last time... but the mpg was only 57.9, so I must have been much closer to empty). Fantastic job!
