Anyone in CA received their HOV lane stickers?

Re: Anyone in CA received their HOV lane stickers?
Has anyone heard if CA still plans on discontinuing use of carpool lanes for hybrids in 2008.
Seems like if there is another batch of 10,000 stickers being issued, impact of hybrids in carpool lanes must not be too bad.
Hopefully, carpool lanes for hybrids will be extended.

I received my stickers today like many others did. Mailed my application on back on 10/17. I'm surprised that the DMV actually mailed these before January 1 (my postmark was 12/29).

Re: Anyone in CA received their HOV lane stickers?
It is not going to be that bad for the carpool lanes. After commuting average 3 hrs a day (almost 90 miles round trip) in LA, I have learned that it is usually:
1) Big *** trucks on mid & slow lanes all together
2) Accidents
3) Lane-Merging
4) Stupid drivers driving 60 mph at fast lane
that's causing the traffic.
For car pool lane, unless it's got some moron fitted in No.4, during traffic hour it can still maintain an average speed from 55mph~75mph.
To be honest, whoever said that additional 10,000 car pool stickers is going to make carpool lane traffic is not logical. Based on the fact that 75,000 stickers have been issued and right now in the car pool lane I saw one hybrid in like 8~10 cars. Now <1/7 amount of hybrid cars are added in, I just don't think it is going to be a big impact.

Opened mail box yesterday evening, spotted the DMV envelope and let out a silent shout...got the stickers!!!!!
Drove in the HOV lane this morning, what a wonderful feeling! I'm glad the DMV mass mailed the stickers rather than slowly processed them.
11/03 - Purchased Prius
11/10 - Received plate number from dealer & sent application
11/13 - Application received by DMV
12/19 - check cashed
1/4 - received stickers
850xx
Good luck to all those who have applied and are waiting.
