40.4 mpg in Los Angeles. Is that good?
Hey folks,
So, I recently finished my 4th tank of gas and finally climbed the 40 mpg barrier. My first three tanks were 37.0, 38.3, 37.9, and then my last was 40.4. What do you guys think considering I live in the San Fernando Valley? BTW, i realized that my tank gets high mpg when I begin my tank by going somewhere on the freeway. Two of my tanks began taking the side streets which caused my tank to begin in the 37 mpg category. My 4th one started in the 45 mpg category.

Given that The Valley can be very hilly, 40 mpg isn't that bad. Are you using any hypermiling techniques ???? What distance are you trips ????
