Default 0W-20 oil

Where can I find 0W-20 oil? I have checked at Wal Mart, several auto parts chains (Checker, Autozone, etc) and none of them carry 0W-20 oil. I have seen posts where people are using Mobil 1 for DIY oil changes. Where is everyone buying their oil? I am starting to think that it is impossible to find this oil in Phoenix and I will have to use 5W-20 instead.

I have found a FEW quarts left at my local NAPA Auto stores. I too have looked at those places you mentioned and couldn't find any. I've been only successful with NAPA. But its always good to call ahead.

I had trouble finding 0W-20 in the southern california area too. Local auto parts stores didn't carry it. I had to go to 3 Walmarts in LA before I found some Mobil synthetic 0W-20 on the shelf, but it wasn't next to the other Mobil 1 oil - it was in a separate section at the end of an aisle.

I also bought a bunch of mobil 0W-20 on-line. Free shipping and no sales tax too.

where did you buy online? I'm thinking of purchasing it there instead of driving everywhere just to find this sacred oil they call 0w-20 . I guess retailers just think hybrid owners bring their cars in for service and not work on their own cars...BAH!!

I bought the Mobil 1 0W-20 at autobarn.com. Buying online ended up being about the same price as walmart, given that there was no sales tax nor shipping (but you need to buy enough stuff to get free shipping).

Does anybody know if any other cars use this oil? Is it the HCH and prius only? I think the Mobil 1 bottle even indicates that it is intended for honda & toyota hybrids.

A Prius can use this oil but unlike the HCH-2 it does not require it.

Every place I have talked to about 0W-20 Mobil 1 has said that they rarely carry it, but will be happy to order a case for me (this includes several national auto-parts stores as well as discount stores like Wal-Mart). Since the oil change interval is so long in my HCH-II, buying a case will last at least a year, and you'll know when you need to order another case when you run out. Just a thought for all you wishing to go full synthetic.

Interestingly enough, the last time I had my oil changed, the dealer asked me where I got 0W-20 Mobil 1 because of demand. Eventually, I believe that this will help to make its regular availability better. Hope this helps.
