Default 100% electric under 40m/h for a HCH2

In this site http://www.nouvellecivic-hybrid.com/, what a nice site by the way. Go see it even if it's in french. So, in this site. They say "under 40m/h with stabilised speed, you will run only on electricity. So far (only 1000Km done in winter conditions), I never see the cas consumtion to zero even if I see RPM at 1000+/-. I understand that the fuel engin still turn powered by the electric engine but if I am 100% electric, I sould see no fuel consumtion ?!?! Yes/No ?

Does some of you have experienced 100% electricity at less than 40m/h with the HCH2 ?

Yes.

You bet. However, getting into EV only is more difficult below 20km/h and much easier at higher speeds though. You'll find many references to EV only operation if you do a simple search in this forum. Alternatively, you may also want to check Tarabell's excellent article. Perhaps it will answer many of your questions.

As a fellow canadian I should mention that EV only operation does not come easy in cold weather though - particularly when the engine is cold.

With the arrival of spring and summer you'll see it occur almost involuntarily at the right moments.

Cheers;

MSantos

Thank you MSantos, I had made some research in the site without good success. Yes the article is very good and finally now I know how to EV-assist. I will practice it a bit again. And, I have learned a lot of acronyms.

Thanks again,

Pierre
