MY DIY HID headlight install

Re: MY DIY HID headlight install
I really never noticed what the thread pitch was, I just got one out of my bench stock that fit. Honda has a universal bolt and nut standard, so just pull one off of something in the car, go to the hardware store (or to you honda parts counter) and say, "Give me some of these".

Re: MY DIY HID headlight install
My unit arrived today and I have a few questions prior to beginning. I have re-read the original post.
My first question:
The instruction manual is telling me to drill a 25mm hole into the back cap
My second question:
The lamp comes with 2 sets of wires that don't seem to look like your set-up.
Also, the manual shows......
said second set of wires somehow being input into the headlamp unit.
I am assuming the following, please confirm:
1.
That when I remove the original OEM bulb, the socket for same will now plug into the female connection on this ballast; and
2. .
Then, I connect the red (from ballast) to black (to bulb) and clear (from ballast) to red (to bulb).
The other wire shown here:
...is simply not used
If I sound totally confused by what should be a straight forward plug and play evolution, I am.
Your patience is greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Re: MY DIY HID headlight install
So forget cutting a hole in your headlight housing. Then cut the grommet on the bulb wiring harness, and separate the 2 harnesses and discard the grommet.
Now go back and see if you can figure it out now.

Re: MY DIY HID headlight install
I installed HIDs yesterday -- actually my trusted mechanic did, easier for him with his lift, etc -- and they are so much better than the original headlights. And they are low enough -- the car is low enough -- that they certainly seem to not be in people's faces as they drive towards me. When my mechanic was done and test drove it on some very dark roads, he said 'where do I get these for my wife's car, and what do they cost?' -- he was surprised at the approx $100 cost. He thought it would be much more.
