Matt's hch2 blog
So together we are saving a combined 0.06 gallons per mile. If you drive about 50 miles a day and I drive 150 miles a day so we are saving 12 gallons a day over our old cars. That is $26.4 per day saved or enough for us to go out for a great dinner somewhere. Wheeeeeee. Ruth's Chris my man? <lol>
There's one just up the street from me, and I have a feeling in the seven months since I traded in the carrier (96 Merc Sable) for the 'Maru, I've saved enough gas (52mpg vs. 24mpg) to pay for at least one trip
Maybe the "family" here will have one day of the year where a bunch of us all go out and have a nice dinner from the savings in our own gas cost. =)
And I'm hoping that Matt hasn't made a post because he was out driving today on my 50-mile trip requirement to see what his FE is from non-short trips. My car finally returned from Indy but I was able to Hypermile my wife's car (2000 VW Beetle GLX (Auto) 1.8-liter Turbo). It gets 22/27 (city/highway) and I refilled it with 4.790 gal for the 132.6 that I drove which is 27.7 mpg. Some of that was City rather than 100% Highway so I'm happy about that. Glad to get the 48+ mpg beast back though.

Matt,
Now I've got to get a super wax job on Voltron, my Mag. Pearl!
Yours is looking mighty shiny in those pics. I'm jealous, and will remedy that.
Time to get Voltron ready for winter anyway. I'll likely do it myself.

between the hand wash and then waxing with the portercable, it was a 3-hr job, and i was exhausted and sore afterward. it was well worth it, but i'm glad i won't have to do it again for another 6 mos. i used the wolfgang deep gloss paint sealant i learned about on this site. good stuff.
