Default Front Window Crack

While driving from Arizona to Los Angeles (I-10 west), a crack formed on the front window. Didn't hear nor see a rock, etc. There's a small chip in the lower left portion that has now ran across the window, about 14 inches in length. Right in my sight line! I may have to get the window replaced. Someone suggested SafeLite for the repair. Anyone experienced this happening?

I am really not sure what is so different with OEM glass for the hybrids and non hybrids. I had mine replaced with OEM glass and there is a sticker (never took it off) stating the glass is made in Japan. The non hybrid Civics glass are made in the US. I am a firm believer that nothing fits like OEM.

Have the dealership look at it. I think if there's no evidence of impact it would be a warranty replacement. If there is a small stone chip or similar, then you're dealing with your insurance company.

Looks like I'm gonna have to have the window replaced. I plan to take it to a Honda dealership. I'll see what Mercury Insurance suggests...things happen!

Front Window replaced. Power Honda in Valencia, CA. $250.00 plus my B13 service put me at $300.00 total. Sunglow is the replacement for the front window. Oh well...should work out!
