Default Need HELP Barely made it home

I have a 2006 Civic Hydrid with 80,000 miles and have never had an issue. Today we had heavy rain which we havent had in quite some time. While driving in the rain on the highway I noticed the check engine light came on and the Drive indicator light was blinking. As I tried to accelerate I got no electric assist and the rpms wouldnt really climb, it was like a regular automatic in overdrive going very slow and wouldnt down shift. When I got to an exit I was at a stop light, when I tried to take off the rpms went up but it was like the trans was slipping, I could barely get going. I stopped turned it off, restarted and the check engine light was on but it drove ok. After a couple minutes it was doing it again. I had to turn off and on over 10 times on the way home. PLEASE I NEED HELP

I have an 06 also and the same thing happened to me when my car was relatively new. It has not happened since. Is your car working properly now?

I had the same experience on my '06 when it had about 600 miles on it. I had it towed to the nearest dealership and they found a code P0722 on the output shaft speed sensor. They reset (not replaced) the sensor in the transmission and the problem has not happened again in the last three years and 29,400 miles.

Here is my original post about the problem:

I'm not sure if you are having the exact same problem, but it would probably be best to take it to the dealership where they can diagnose it.

With your mileage I am guessing transmission.
