FYI - the 2000 Insight Service Manual calls for 91 octane. I can tell you from experience the Insight is NOT a racer.

For me, it's 87 because thats what it says in the book. I am very interested to see how much luck bab has with the premium.

Former head of Honda PR told me to stick with the manual ... 87 it is, in my book.

Thank You kind Sir,

So far so good. I am finishing up another tank of the 93 and I'm at 49 mpg +-. This includes some very aggresive driving for 30 or so miles so I expect to see better results later.

I don't care what bab wants to put in his car, I just think posting on the forum about using 93 gets people confused. The myth survives because of post like this. So, Bab do what you want, as for the rest of you, do some research. Ultimately I don't care what anybody does, I find humor in what people do, and I love laughing about this issue.

I am not trying to confuse anyone. As far as I can tell after 5000 miles the 93 has had no adverse effect on my HCH2 and my mpg is good.

On another note. Another tank'O'93 logged. 50.2 mpg over 518 miles with aggressive driving for about 30 miles(Tried to haul *** to a casino boat and FAILED). I need to exercise self control so I can see if I can get past 600 miles with a tank.

I still don't understand why you are not running on 107.

FWIW, manual says use "87 or higher".

Still no sign of the 107. Another good tank of 93 though. 50.3 mpg over 546.9 miles. I am having a problem with the drive-side front window coming off track. I will let the Honda guys deal with that when I do my service.

You usually need to ask around and actually go inside the station. It'll be a completely separate pump, usually along the side or back, rather like kerosene pumps used to be. You can also check out any local racing enthusiast boards, they'll know which places stock it, and often at what prices.
