2008 civic hybrid Colors
Will Honda offer slightly different color offerings(interior and exterior) for the 2008 civic? the colors they have now are kind of boring exterior colors. Any changes for interior colors other than tan or blue/gray interior? Any changes on the pie tin rims?
thanks,
thanks,
It would be nice to have more options. I didn't really like the tan interior colour so that limited my choice of exterior colours to two. I bought the Sparkle Grey Pearl (I think that's the same as the Magnetic Pearl?) which comes with the blue/grey interior.
I'm not a fan of the HCH interior, either. I have the blue/grey, and I would prefer a solid black. That's why I researched planned changes for the next model year before I ended up buying this year's hybrid.
The only change for 2008 is an option for leather trimmed seats. Honda, like any auto maker, won't offer a bunch of new options on cars that it's already selling like hotcakes.
Some people have cited a 15% decline in civic sales over last year's numbers, as if to say that Honda just isn't selling enough of them. But that decline is only natural following the first year of a new body style, and especially a year where Honda not only sold every Civic it made, but had to ramp up production just to meet the demand.
Also, Civic sales have risen and fallen with the price of gasoline. This time last year, when gas hit $3/gal. for the first time, buyers had trouble finding a Civic. They almost had to beg for a hybrid model, and then pay $4,000 over MSRP for it. I know -- I started looking at them a year ago.
Then winter arrived, and gas dropped to $2/gal. The frenzy for small cars subsided, and the sales figures reflected it. But here we are again at $3. Guess what the sales figures are going to show in a couple of months?
If you're thinking of buying a HCH, do it now, or plan to wait until December.

The word on the other "side of the pipe" is that there appears to be no significant changes planned for the 2008 model. The claim in these circles is that the current and immediate HCH production levels do not offer much of a reason for expanding the content and features beyond the current offering.
Well, whatever!
I, for one would also appreciate a broader pallete of colors at least.

I went with "galaxy gray" on my '07 HCH -- and I HATE the yellow/tan ugliness of the interior. I think gray interior would have been wonderful, but what can you do...
Well, since I just bought my '07 HCH-II yesterday (woohoo!! though the circumstances surrounding why aren't so "woohoo" which I will explain in the inevitable thread I'll start about it), I guess I'll weigh in with the colors talk.
Pretty much is annoying that the hybrid has the most limited selection of colors of pretty much anything, but I at least like the fact that I found something I liked.
I was VERY surprised that I ended up liking the white exterior and tan interior the best - which is what I ended up with.
Exterior color selection is sort of fine I think (would have killed for yellow though), but I do think they need to expand the interior color options, though I do like the tan interior myself.
