2005 HCH1 battery fixing
You can't take a voltage reading with one lead.
I list the pin pairs in post #2. You need to have one lead on one pin and the other lead on the other pin. Multimeter needs to be set to DC voltage. If it's an auto-ranging, no worries. If you have to set the range, 20V is common and suitable here.

This is the inside of the box where that plug goes but idk where I’m checking volts in this thing.
ok ok I got them.
14-6 14.65v
6-13. 14.55v
13-5. 14.85v
5-4. 14.53v
1-7. 14.71v
7-2. 14.71v
2-8. 14.87v
8-3. 14.64v
3-9. 13.59v
9-10. 15.05v
can you please take a look at the recordings I got? I’m not good with electrical. Sorry
come on please give me some help. I legit don’t know anything to do with electrical.
I got an email notification that you posted this, but I don't see it here:
your saying multimeter the positive and negative posts from the hybrid battery? With car running? And then pop off the cover where those lines run and check those? What will this tell me? If it’s for sure battery?
No. I'm not saying that.
I'm saying turn the car off, pull the IPU lid and measure the 10 voltages.
Those 10 voltages need to be nearly identical to have a good battery.

Highest: 15.05V
Lowest: 13.69V
1.46V difference between them.
Generally speaking, any tap at less than 14.85V has bad or weak cells. Note that this is not an absolute rule. In OPERATION, you should see less than 0.2V deviation. Just sitting there without current passing in or our out of the battery, a healthy battery is going to be closer to 0.05 - 0.10V deviation.
That battery is complete and total garbage. It looks exactly like 99% of all salvage yard batteries that have sat for any significant period of time. Any tap at less than 14.4V is completely devoid of any usable charge ("dead") and/or has a failed cell.
Now you know how to check them before you ever install them.
