Yikes! Today its $3.15/gal for Reg 87 Oct at most stations in Western Los Angeles County. Up 5-9C since yesterday.

VERY happy to have Prius cars.

I heard you were over $3.00 the other day. We have only one station around here at $3.05. Two states to not live in are NY and CA for sure, with MA and CT running close behind.

 

Paid $2.639 at Sam's Club in Phoenix on 3-7-2007. WHEW !!!

 

Thanks for reviving this thread. Here on Kauai (one of the Hawaiian Islands) our prices are $3.09 at regular gas stations and $2.89 at Costco (newly arrived). I'm surprised that we no longer have the large gap we used to have.

$2.99 in Woodland Hills. I continue to miraculously live near the cheapest gas station in Los Angeles, I roll to the bottom of the hill and there it is. My only guess is its being across from a high school mean they make no profit on gas and make it all on food.

Then again, calling $2.99 cheap is pretty funny. A friend of mine drives a Silverado with a 35 (!) gallon tank, it costs her over $80 to fill up several times per week. Wow... . The Prius is even nicer to have.

Anyone know what caused this price surge? Is it just the changeover from Winter blend to Summer?

 

3.05-2.98 depending were you go.
Chevron is the most expensive then Shell.
Least expensive Exxon/Mobil and Thrifty gas.

You'll be happy to find that the Costco here in Santa Cruz, CA has regular at $2.96 as of this evening.

It's been steadily going up for months, but has recently been going up quite fast.

 

$2.35 or more in Dallas area for reg.

 

Hasn't risen here as fast, but it didn't seem to drop as fast here either.

Best I saw a month or so ago was $1.99, now the best is $2.39.

 

Coming up on $2.70 in my part of Connecticut. Still rising but not quite as fast as over the past few weeks.
